Feedback on Final Video

Very Graphic but goes well with the lyrics

Good animations

Slightly repetitive when ‘legs are dangling off the edge’

Overall I think it suits the song well, Good job!

More angles of the lip-syncing

I really enjoy the flash animation. However the lip-syncing clips seemed quite repetitive

Final Music Video

This is the final version of my music video. I haven't changed a lot since the last version but I do think it has improved a lot. The main thing that I have changed is the blood used when I shoot myself. I used Adobe After Effects to create a proper effect for the video to make it look more realistic and gorey. In the rough version the blood was created by using scrolling red text (full stops) moving from the side of my head. This was a temperary measure and if you compare the two effects, the blood created on After Effects is a lot more convincing. Another thing that has been changed is the Newspaper Article Shot used at the end. This was not used in the Rough Cut but I decided to put it in the final version.

CD Cover

This is the CD Album Cover. I was trying to give it a continuous effect by having an ever-going tunnel through the pictures I was holding inside each picture. I believe the effect looks realistic, despite using photoshop to create it. The blood on the wall behind me isn't as dark as I wanted it to be but I still like the effect I used. I tried to use a font that looked like it would appeal to an urban audience. My face is covered to give it a mysterious look. Since it is meant to share the same audience as Hollywood Undead I wanted to give it the same feeling. This is because the members of Hollywood Undead wear masks to hide their identity while they are performing. Most of the fans know what the band members look like anyway because you can find them on google, but it has always been their theme. I also put the put the "Perental Advisory" sticker on to make it look official, along with the barcode on the back.

Poster

This is the poster. It uses the same picture as the front of the album cover, only without the continuing tunnel of pictures through the board I am holding.


Info
The name of the band is meant to be 'Riddles of a Misfit' and this is their first album. Most of the time, the first album by a band is named after the band. This is the reason there isn't an album name on the actual album or the poster. I should have mentioned "Album in shops now" instead of "In shops now" and it might have solved a bit of confusion.

CD Cover

This is the design for my CD cover. The real cover will not be a cartoon but the words will be superimposed onto the wall behind me. I am considering having the pool of blood (with misfit written in it) on the floor instead of the wall.

“Different shots for when singing vocals”
-This is a very fair comment because all the shots that include lip-syncing have the same background and we should have chosen more places to shoot in the building before the camera died (The main reason why we don't have any more footage than we do)

“Very good use of animatic – perhaps make it all animatic and have lip-sync for stickmen”
-I would love to be able to make the stick-men lip-sync and I could probably have done it. However it took me hours to make each animation anyway, and to have to line up the lips with the music would have made the job even longer and more difficult.

-I agree with this comment, I used the same shots over and over. These shots include the part where the lyrics speak, "My legs are dangling off the edge" and "A stomach full of pills didn't work again".

-When I purchased the gun I was told I should paint it black to make it look more realistic for the camera. However I took into consideration that the style of the band are "Scene" and they wear bright/dark colours together to create an interesting contrast. I thought that an orange/black gun would suit the style of the song.

-I don't know where the change is so I can't agree nor disagree with this comment.

Printed props (Me)

These will be taped to the front of the desks to make it look like a legitimate company in the video. (17/10/2011)

This is a newspaper article that was made to put up at the end of the video for a few seconds. It will be hidden in the scenery but will be easy to spot when in shot. (17/10/2011)

The final cut does not show either of these props because we didn't have an appropriate amount of footage to put them in. It would have had continuity errors if we had used them in some shots and not in others. (24/11/2011)

Request for Music Permission. (Both Me and Daniel Contributed)

This is the email (Forwarded to me Post-sent) that was sent to the record label that owns the rights to Hollywood Undead's songs. We were asking for permission to use the song Bullet by Hollywood Undead. So far we have no had a reply from them but we are hoping to soon or we will be unable to use the song in our project.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Digipack analysis (Daniel)

This the debut album cover of Cage The Elephants debut album of the same name, it features quite an abstract design which is somewhat representive of the the music. In the centre of the cover there features a skull which is then wrapped in the album cover, the title goes against the typical album convention and sits to the right of the image horizontally.
